The Swiss Federal Council has declared an “extraordinary situation” until 19 April 2020. For Adelboden-Lenk-Kandersteg, there are currently no general travel restrictions due to the coronavirus. However, the hygiene and conduct regulations put in place by the federal and cantonal authorities will apply.
Life isn’t standing still, but it is a bit quieter
Our hotels, holiday apartments, hiking trails, places of natural beauty and much more are still open to guests. Medical care and access to food supplies are also guaranteed in the region. Traffic routes (private vehicles and public transport) to and from Reichenbach, Kiental, Frutigen, Adelboden, Lenk and Kandersteg will also remain open.
Regrettably, all ski areas in the region closed on 15 March and the following tourist amenities in Adelboden-Lenk-Kandersteg are also no longer open with immediate effect:
- Catering establishments (restaurants, self-service restaurants, bistros, cafés etc.)
- Entertainment facilities (cinemas, theatres, sports centres, wellness facilities, gyms, swimming pools, discos, bars etc.)
- Retail outlets selling non-essential goods.
- In addition, all organised public and private events have been cancelled
Anyone who has booked accommodation in Adelboden-Lenk-Kandersteg but is unable to travel here because of the coronavirus should contact their hotel/host or booking platform directly. Holders of one-day and multi-day tickets for mountain transport in our region should contact the respective sales outlets for refunds. The same applies to ticket holders of cancelled events.
