The month begins with a look ahead and a tingling sensation in the feet. On Friday 1 September, advance sales of the joint ski pass for the four largest ski resorts in Bern begin. It certainly makes sense to be well prepared because in Adelboden-Lenk, Gstaad, Jungfrau Ski Region, and Meiringen-Hasliberg, for a limited time only, the 666 km (= 414 miles) of prepared pistes can be enjoyed all winter for just CHF 666. » more

Adelboden à la carte: Aroma is on the menu

Alpine herbs are at their most intense on an autumn hike. No wonder that wild thyme has been chosen as this year's Adelboden à la carte ambassador. From Friday 8 September, the herb will feature strongly at this second gastro event. All will be revealed during the ten-day programme as gourmets, bakers, as well as wine and cheese experts show how they have incorporated the "Mùttächölm" - as we call it - into their products. » more

Swiss Chamber: Music in the greenhouse

Flutes beneath the palms? Listening skills for the audience? With a Tropenhaus concert and workshops for guests, the popular music festival is expanding its repertoire even further this year. Purists among classical music lovers may, of course, also treat their ears between 22 September and 1 October: At venues such as Adelboden's village church, award winners and international ensembles continue to be dedicated to the likes of Brahms and Mozart. » more

Cows tug at the reeds, the wind ripples the mountain streams, the six-iron swings into the slice. This adventurous combination will find golfers up on Engstligenalp from 10 September. Despite all the contrasts, the highest-attitude 18-hole golf course in Europe fits seamlessly into the rustic landscape of the mighty plateau - and the so-called 19th hole is located in a comfortable Alpine hut. » more
