Last big push of the season

The air is fresher, the views clearer and the pathways open - for hikers, autumn offers almost ideal conditions. The mountain lifts will be playing their part too. The gondola lifts to Silleren, Hahnenmoos and Höchst will be operational until 15 October. Then a week later, the last guests of the summer season will be carried up to Elsigenalp and Engstligenalp. The last remaining lift on Tschentenalp stays in service at weekends until 29 October. » more

Authenticity for raclette

Just as the horned cattle were milked in the Aeling familiy stable, now the Alpine hut at the foot of Wildstrubel has been turned into a cosy restaurant. The resulting raclette cheese is creamy and spicy as it rolls over the steamed potatoes in molten form. Both walkers and foodies arriving here in October can enjoy the fruit of the Alpine summer against a mountain backdrop set among authentic meadows. » more
